Welcome to Reliance Baptist Church

We are a small church with a big heart. Our mission is to help people experience the power of God through a relationship with Jesus Christ. We want you to know, and grow in, a faith-based relationship with Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. We also desire to see that relationship influence every area of our lives from home, to work, to our day to day speech and actions. All our activities and ministries are tailored to this end.

RBC's ministries center around worship and Bible study. Our worship services are on Sunday mornings at 11:00 am and include "the old hymns" sung from hymnals, southern gospel music and special music ranging from traditional standards to contemporary songs. God's Word is preached weekly in a way that convicts, challenges and encourages those who attend. There are Bible study classes for all ages each Sunday morning, beginning at 10:00 am – but come early (9:45 am) to enjoy a time of coffee, donuts and fellowship! We have men's and women's Bible studies (see schedule) as well as youth and children's ministries. There are several special events that occur throughout the year including our Annual Easter Egg Hunt, Easter Sunrise Service followed by all church breakfast, Vacation Bible School, Thanksgiving Celebration and more. RBC also sponsors a food pantry and lends aid to members and people in the community as God enables us.

RBC has continuously ministered in the community since its organization in October, 1875. The church was founded by settlers who came to the Brazos Valley, primarily from Georgia, following the War between the States. The community was originally known as "Little Georgia", but sometime in the early 1870's was changed to Reliance, which eventually gave the church its name. The Reliance Cemetery, located behind the church is on the Texas Historical Registry and displays a historical plaque with information about the area. Many people have come to a life changing relationship with Jesus Christ through the ministries of RBC over the years. It is our prayer that you may be another.

Reliance Baptist Church is a part of the Southern Baptist Convention and the Baptist General Convention of Texas. We also support the Creath-Brazos Baptist Association and its ministries.

We look forward to meeting you in the future.
If we may be of service to you, please feel free to contact us.
